Update in a nutshell

It has been such a long time since our last (and first) update so we, and by we I mean Angi, who again, may or may not be writing this, decided to do an update from July '09 to March '10 in a nutshell.

This beautiful Idaho sunset picture was taken out our back yard in July.

Angi took this of me and our faithful dear old cat Garfield who had followed us all up to the headgate to change the irrigating water. He follows us irrigating all summer long.

This was taken at our picnic in the park on Sunday after church while Tim and Angi were here in July. Sweetest kiddos ever!!!

Tom, Chad, Tim, and Angi stopped to fish on their trail ride and they were so delighted to catch afew! What a great time they had!

In November we drove down to Reno and got to spend some time with Tim and Angi. While we were there, Angi and I planned, started, and finished a project we have long sence been trying to do together. We made a quilt for Tessa! We had so much fun cutting it out and piecing and sewing it together! So thankful for the time we had there!

Can't wait to do another one together!

While we were there, we shopped at some of the western stores. We couldn't resist getting afew silly hat pictures together!

Now them's a 10 gallon hat if I ever saw one!!!

So great to be together!

December was a sad month as we lost Alfred. His passing brought some family to town that we haven't seen in quite afew years. Was so good to spend some time with Uncle Harold.

With winter comes another long chore season. They are a lot of work morning and night but we are thankful to have them as they keep us active and they are kind of theraputic! We have always loved farm life.

Being a 'Grammy' is one of the greatest blessings in life!!! Me with my three sweet grands!

Rick, Sari, and their kiddos came over to Chad and Kass' house for dinner one night while Tim and Angi were here at Christmas. They truly are like family to us!

This bench was made by Tom and Rick for the SRHS FFA Auction. I, along with others, are hoping these will stay on the production line for a while...at least until family members get one!

Tom and I met Angi at the Winnemmucca horse sale just last weekend. It was a great experience.

While we were there, we caught up with an old ranch hand friend, Buck Johnson who Tom worked with over 30 years ago on the IR Booth ranch. It just so happened that Tom asked a local if he knew Buck and he said yes and that he owned a ranch about 150 mi. north of Winnemmucca! Turns out, he was at the horse sale so we caught up with him and his wife and kids. Was great to catch up with him.

We were really glad to spend some time with Angi while we were there. She told us she was taking a half day off and would meet us Friday afternoon. But she surprised us and walked up to us in the grandstands on Thursday night a few hours after we got there! We got to spend all day Friday and Saturday together enjoying the shows and just walking around the different vendors that were there. We drove to Reno Saturday night to spend the rest of the weekend with her and Tim.

So that's the last few months in a nutshell. Hope you all are doing well!

Here we are!

At the prodding of my daughter, who may or may not be writing this, I now have a blog for Tom and I to keep everyone up to date on the latest around the farm. Many of you already know that we are in the middle of a demo of our house. We are adding on to our bedroom, upstairs bathroom, and our dining room. We are looking forward to having a little more space in the rooms we spend the majority of our time in. And we are excited to have a little more space to spread out in when we have visitors. We always love having visitors, expecially the ones from Reno. (tee hee hee). We also have many different kinds of babies running around this farm, including our now neighboring grandkids, so I am sure many of you would love to see pictures of the demo and the new babies around here. We hope all of you are having a wonderful spring so far. Here are a few pictures of us and our family and some of our farm courtesy of Angi's camera. Keep in touch!
